Because they're applying the same solution to every dog. Most trainers are trained in one methodology and apply it regardless of the dog's drives, genetics, or history. Danny Wells and the Unleashed K9 team assess each dog individually and choose the method that will actually work, not the method the trainer is most comfortable using.

It's a longer first session where we meet your dog in real conditions, exactly as you'd walk them day-to-day. We assess temperament, what's driving the behaviour, and what you've tried. By the end you'll have a full training plan and you'll have already seen an improvement in your dog. If not, you don't pay.

Unleashed K9 is based in St Helens, Merseyside, and most clients come to the training centre. We've worked with clients from across the UK and Europe, contact us with your location and we'll work out the details.

Not at all. While we're known for taking on the dogs other trainers can't handle, that's only part of what we do. We train dogs of every temperament, from puppies who need a solid foundation to family pets who just need better recall or lead manners. Obedience, scent work, group classes, pack walks, whatever your dog needs, we cover it. You don't need a problem dog to benefit from proper training.

This is exactly the type of case we specialise in. Danny Wells has spent 15+ years rehabilitating dogs that other trainers have given up on, including dogs that were days from being put to sleep. Book an assessment and let us see the dog before drawing any conclusions.

Most owners see a noticeable difference within the first session. That's the basis of our money-back guarantee. You see it immediately, or you don't pay.

Every dog is different, but most clients see their dog in a completely different place within two to five sessions after the Initial Assessment. Some issues resolve faster, some take a bit longer, it depends on the dog's history, the severity of the behaviour, and how consistently the owner follows through between sessions. We'll give you an honest estimate at your assessment, not a padded-out programme built to keep you coming back.

All of them. We work with every breed from Chihuahuas to XL Bullies, crossbreeds to pedigrees. Danny appeared on Channel 4's Death Row Dogs: Save My XL Bully and has extensive experience with bull breeds, Malinois, German Shepherds, and every working breed. The approach adapts to the dog, not the other way round.

Every client starts with an Initial Assessment. From there, we recommend the right programme for your dog. Prices depend on the service, 1-to-1 sessions, group classes, residential training, and protection training all vary. Check our Services page for full pricing or contact us for a quote.

We use whatever tool is appropriate for the individual dog and the situation. Danny is one of the UK's most experienced e-collar trainers and uses them responsibly as part of a structured training plan, not as a shortcut. Every tool has a time and place, and we'll always explain why before using anything.

For 1-to-1 sessions, absolutely, you're a crucial part of the process. We train the handler as much as the dog. For residential training, we provide regular video updates so you can track your dog's progress throughout their stay.

Because the home is a controlled environment with no triggers. Outside, your dog faces other dogs, people, bikes, noises, and if they haven't been taught how to handle those situations, they fall apart. This is one of the most common issues we deal with, and it's very fixable.

As soon as you bring them home. There's a common myth that you need to wait until a puppy is 6 months old, that's 6 months of bad habits forming. We start puppies from 8 weeks old with age-appropriate training. The earlier you start, the fewer problems you'll have down the line.

Yes. We run structured group training sessions and a Good Behaviour Class at our St Helens facility. These aren't your typical puppy free-for-alls, every dog works, every owner learns, and sessions are controlled and progressive. Group classes are brilliant for dogs transitioning from 1-to-1 work into real-world social situations.

If you follow the guidance we give you during your Initial Assessment and you don't see an improvement in your dog in that first session, we refund you in full. No questions asked. We've had this guarantee since day one and it's never been a problem, because the method works.

Yes. Separation anxiety is one of the most misunderstood behavioural issues in dogs. Many cases labelled as separation anxiety are actually frustration or boredom-based. We assess the real cause and build a training plan that addresses it, not just manages the symptoms.

Use the Book Assessment button on any page to choose a date and time that works for you, or call us on 07577 612912. We'll arrange your Initial Assessment and take it from there.
